n Use of standard personal protective gear for moving remains and embalming.
n Be aware infection could just as likely come from contact with grieving survivors, not just the deceased. Increase frequency of hand washing particularly after interaction with survivors.
n Sanitize facility daily- special focus on items staff and visitors may have contact with: Doorknobs, restroom fixtures, light switches, pens, etc. Also treat telephones, office equipment and computers.
n Place sanitizing foam or gel dispensers in restrooms or so visitors can use them as they leave visitation rooms or the facility.
n Use of N-95 mask
n Clean and sanitize cosmetic brushes after each application. Exposure to direct sunlight is effective for brushes that are not suited for chemical sanitation.
n If casket is to be open for viewing/visitation use alcohol to wipe exposed areas of deceased prior to application of cosmetics.
