n     Use of standard personal protective gear for moving remains and embalming.

n     Be aware infection could just as likely come from contact with grieving survivors, not just the deceased. Increase frequency of hand washing particularly after interaction with survivors.

n     Sanitize facility daily- special focus on items staff and visitors may have contact with: Doorknobs, restroom fixtures, light switches, pens, etc. Also treat telephones, office equipment and computers.

n     Place sanitizing foam or gel dispensers in restrooms or so visitors can use them as they leave visitation rooms or the facility.

n     Use of N-95 mask

n     Clean and sanitize cosmetic brushes after each application. Exposure to direct sunlight is effective for brushes that are not suited for chemical sanitation.

n     If casket is to be open for viewing/visitation use alcohol to wipe exposed areas of deceased prior to application of cosmetics.
